Ok, when checking out any new band one is always careful to move cautiously forward when evaluating the show for review. Well I did just that, but was pleasantly surprised by what I was hearing. Although they had a postage stamp size of the stage and lights that were anything but bright, they pulled off a great opening for Roger Daltrey.

Now, being a new band, and opening for the legendary Roger Daltrey in front of a sold out crowd would cause anyone to be nervous…well, not these guys, they seemed to be comfortable, and is came through in their music. Now, except for their appearance, they were donned in tattered clothes and had hair that looked like they just got out of bed, their music was a pleasant surprise for the sold out crowd.

Paper Zoo, a four piece band from Los Angeles played enough music to make them sound like a solid octet. The bands melodic progression was that of a seasoned professional band, the resonance from their music carried on well after they left the stage. Although they only had the opportunity to present themselves with a five song set, I had the opportunity to hear them tear through ‘Paper Zoo’, a song that had an erie similarity to The Beatles, ‘Sgt. Pepper’ and destined for some success.

These guys are up and coming and it was a pleasure seeing them and hearing the music that, given time, should be up on the charts for quite some time.
