The album arrived nearly three decades after Adams’ self-titled 1980 debut and four years after his last studio release, 2004’s Room Service. In between those two discs, the Canadian-born, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide, garnered 21 top ten hits, earned nominations for three Academy Awards and five Golden Globes, received 18 Juno Awards, an American Music Award and five ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards for Most Performed Song from a Motion Picture (his music has appeared on more than 40 movie soundtracks).

Adams has been awarded the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia; he has received an award for “Artist of the Decade” and was recently inducted into the Juno Hall of Fame.  He also has a star on Canada’s Walkway of Fame and recently added his handprint to the Wembley Square of Fame in celebration of his 25th show at the famed stadium.

Bryan Adams’ live performances have benefited His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales Prince’s Trust, Live Aid,  Live 8, The Concert for Freedom for Nelson Mandela, Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Net Aid, The Canadian Avalanche Foundation and Breast Cancer,  as well as campaigns that have saved the rainforests, provided food and comfort for the needy and created whale sanctuaries. Through his own foundation he has also helped build schools in areas of Southeast Asia, devastated by the tsunami in 2004.

Adams is also an acclaimed photographer and shot the 2008 ad campaign for Guess. He’s donating his fees from the project to his namesake foundation that funds projects supporting the elderly, victims of wars and natural disasters and other disadvantaged individuals.  Bryan’s outstanding live concerts have established him as one of the world’s best rock singers of our time, performing over 120 concerts a year as he works to spread his message of music and environmental awareness to an audience of millions around the globe.

Cinderella Postpones Tour

****TOUR POSTPONED – MESSAGE FROM MANAGEMENT

Its with unbelievably deep regret that I must announce that Cinderella’s Tom Keifer’s left vocal cord has hemorrhaged, thereby making it impossible for him to sing in the immediate future.

Tom felt his throat give way last night (6/11) finishing the set in pre-production rehearsals, went to his vocal doctor (Dr. Stephen Mitchell) in Nashville this morning, and was told the grim news. In the short term, Tom’s was told it would be two to three weeks before the swelling and damage would recede to a point to where an assessment can be made as to whether surgery will be required.

Consequently, and again, most regretfully, we have no choice but to postpone the upcoming Cinderella tour until such time as Tom is ready tour again.

Mushroomhead – Cleveland Concert Review

Mushroomhead

Peabody’s Downunder

Cleveland, Ohio

May 30, 2008

Cleveland’s own best kept secret, Mushroomhead, has been embracing there fans with a unique and adventurous form of heavy metal since 1993. Vivid, experimental, and indefinable, Mushroomhead challenges the limits of heavy metal through both sight and sound. There is absolutely nothing better than a Mushroomhead show. They bring a lot of melodramatic, theatrical elements to the stage. Well known for the dramatic mind blowing stage show, and their facial disguise ‘X’ logo, which Mushroomhead owns. Mushroomhead along with 14 opening local acts, embraced there hometown Cleveland, Friday Night.

A Mushroomhead show is something you have to be ready for. After a long night of local acts, it’s finally 12 am and time for the main event: Mushroomhead. The stage crew set up, fog pours all over the stage, and the crowd goes nuts. Swaying back and forth, cheering for there beloved Mushroomhead. Peabody’s goes dark, and over the speakers you hear an eerie crack, and a beautiful foreign ladies voice off of “Superbuick” and “XX”, kicking off “Bwomp”. When Mushroomhead hit the stage, fits and metal signs flew high, the colorful lights soared from the stage, and the strobe lights started pumping. The crowd jumped and danced to the techno beat of “Bwomp”, and at the kick of the bass Shmotz, on keyboards, jumps into the fans hands. The whole floor is a pit of madness. Some crowd favorites, “43”, “Before I Die”, “Kill Tomorrow”, and “Never Let it Go”, were also a hit Friday Night.

The adrenaline never stopped, even after Mushroomhead’s set, techno beats pump through Peabody’s and girls go on stage and dance, mostly a favorite of the men. It’s an all night party, it’s not just a concert, it’s a highly anticipated event. If you have never attended, it’s defiantly something you should put on you’re to do list! Check Mushroomhead out Saturday June 7th at the Cove in Geneva. You won’t be dissatisfied!
